Life is Complicated
I spent the last week rounding on a particularly large group of neonates, all with their own set of problems mostly complications of prematurity. Rounds frequently carried on into the afternoon, the input of Dr. Sparrow frequently adding to my frustration. About mid-week, the A/C went out at our house making for a difficult time on the home front. We had my in-laws in town as well, so life outside the NICU was pretty hectic. On Thursday we could no longer "tough it out" at home with no A/C so we drove the 40 miles up to a home that we have at the lake after I got off of work. The air conditioning was really nice, but the added commute seemed like turning up the speed on the "treadmill" a few more notches. After work on Friday, we loaded up in the car to drive two and a half hours to my Mom's for the weekend to celebrate her birthday. All of this is simply to say that life is complicated, frequently hectic, and sometimes you just have to "dance in the rain" rather than "cursing the storm". Also a transition into apologizing for the lack of input to the blog. I hope to do better in the week to come. Please stay tuned. Life is complicated, but a very worthwhile adventure.
